Woman at the top?
24 August 2018
Deloitte could become the first Big 4 firm in the UK to be led by a woman.
The current CEO David Sproul steps down next year and Sharon Thorne is one of three partners being lined up as a possible successor.
Thorne is the management partner for global and strategy and she will find out if she gets the job later this year after a partner vote.
She is not someone who shy’s away from publicity. In November she mocked the then foreign secretary Boris Johnson on twitter by saying he was a “national embarrassment” and said he “should have gone already”.
Deloitte, of course, has a US female chief executive, Cathy Engelbert. However the board has not nominated her to serve a second four-year term.
