Quarterly reports die out
05 September 2017
List company quarterly reports could soon be assigned to the history books.
The Investment Association has said that the number of companies producing such reports is now in rapid decline. More than 40% of FTSE 100 and 60% of FTSE 250 firms no longer issue quarterly reports.
That is a decline of 19% and 25% respectively on October last year.
The Investment Association has been calling for all listed companies to stop producing earnings guidance and quarterly updates, because it causes short-termism.
