Tax havens to open their books

Anyone sheltering dirty money in Britain’s overseas territories will be exposed under laws set into force by the UK government.
Tax havens such as the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Island have been resisting moves to reveal the identities of those ‘benefiting’ from assets held under their jurisdictions.
However, it was a surprise to many when the UK government conceded on an amendment tabled in the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Bill to force all British overseas-territories to publish full and transparent public registers of who owns what businesses registered there.
