Time to discriminate
11 May 2018
UK companies need to start to discriminate against job applicants from Eton because their grades are ‘not as impressive’ as those achieved by students at struggling schools, says former education secretary and accountant, Justine Greening.
She said employers should take into account a candidate’s background during the recruitment process. Greening felt this would really help social mobility and pointed out that there is software available to help companies who want to go down this route.
Greening, who went to a comprehensive in Yorkshire, quit the cabinet earlier in the year following a reshuffle.
