One wild weekend!
29 May 2019
A miserable accountant, who claimed he was bullied by workmates, spent Ł170,000 of his company’s money on cocaine and prostitutes on one wild weekend has been jailed for 2.5 years.
Accounts worker, Darren Carvill, stole a total of Ł262,000 from car servicing chain Mr Clutch. The ‘awkward’ 38-year old almost bankrupt Mr Clutch, because he said he wanted a “weekend of madness” and to “go out with a bang”.
The court was told Carvill filed bogus payments to himself after being bullied by colleagues. He initially stole Ł40,000, but then repaid Ł36,500. He then took more, which clearly he was never going to repay.
