Robots will be running huge swathes of government as artificial intelligence is deployed to ensure the state does more with less, said Chancellor Philip Hammond.
He told a House of Lords committee recently that the government was expecting a quick take-up of AI across departments.
What he didnít venture is what affect this would have on jobs. The think-tank Reform estimated earlier this year that 250,000 of the UKís five million public sector workers were vulnerable to AI taking their jobs over the next 15 years.
