Brexit recruitment boom for graduates next year

Graduates leaving university next summer will find a plethora of jobs in the public sector, according to figures in The Times’ ‘Top 100 Graduate Employers’ survey.

November 2018

Graduates leaving university next summer will find a plethora of jobs in the public sector, according to figures in The Times’ ‘Top 100 Graduate Employers’ survey.
It found that for the first time in a generation there will be more vacancies in the public sector than there are in the accountancy and professional services sectors.
PwC, voted best graduate recruiter for the 15th year in a row, is looking for 1,350 graduates.
However, the civil service fast stream wants to hire a record 1,500 graduates for our post-Bretix world.
Teach First, the NHS and MI5 are also upping their games. Teach First wants 1,750 recruits, the NHS 500 graduates for its management programme, and MI5 needs 200.
That all means there are 5,268 vacancies in the public sector and 4,850 in professional services.
Overall, there will be 22,168 vacancies among the top 100 employers, up 8.2% on last year.
