ACCA JUNE 2018 EXAM FEEDBACK - DAY TWO
06 June 2018
ACCA June exams
P2 June feedback
One sitter thought the examiner was “quite kind to us for the final P2 and I will be gutted if I fail on such a friendly paper”. A fellow PQ agreed that the paper was all right and there was nothing “too complicated” in it. Another felt it was quite a kind exam!
At the other end of the scale where those who struggled and said: “roll on Strategic Reporting” come September.
Breaking it down many thought Q1 was “not the worse” consolidation question ever. One student said it was in fact simpler than most practice questions they had attempted. Q2 was, however, deemed detailed and tricky. Lots of people seemed to like Q4 on historical costs and fair value.
F7 June feedback
The paper was seen as “kind of OK”. A bit of a mix reaction with many finding section A hard and sections B & C ‘fine’.
There’s a worry that many CBE sitters are not familiar with the test they face. Those used to the paper-based exams admitted to struggling with the new format and having difficulty concentrating.
There seems to be some jealousy creeping in over the questions other sitters are getting. Let’s call in question envy! This was particularly true for those who didn’t get a consolidation question. “That’s fee 20 marks for me, but I didn’t get it,” said one sitter.
Students also wondered if all sitters sat the same section C on paper and CBE. As one said: “Kinda unfair if they aren’t to be honest.”
